Kiteventure

Very solid 22-28 knots down at Frankston with James.  Took the big kite out, got some big air and rode some fun waves.  Wonderful way to start the day.

Amazing morning session.  Very consistent forecast seemingly out of nowhere.  I met up with Eric down at Hampton, and headed out with the 10m in about 20 knots with the twintip.  Great wind for jumping so I got back into rotational tricks, really fun in the small swell.  A bit of rain came through and as I did a jump, I got a shock in my left knee.  I thought I must have strained a ligament or something, until my next jump where I felt something in both legs.  A bigger jump yielded shocks in both legs and arms, particularly around elbow and knee joints. I was obviously picking up static electricity from the storm clouds above. I decided to keep the kite low and head out past the storm clouds - the clouds were almost past me so I thought this would work better than heading in.  It seemed to work out fine, but there was a few nervous moments once I'd figured out what was going on. Good strong wind and some nice waves.  I got carried away and scaled back the 7m - I should only do that when its over 30 knots as I had to work it hard to get enough power.  Fantastic way to start the day- as ever.

Nice morning session at Hampton in just enough wind.  Damn cold though - wetsuit was still wet from Saturday's session.

James and I hit Frankston on the tail of an exceptionally windy week in Melbourne.  122km/h was recorded this week at South Channel, fortunately for us the wind oscillated between 25 and 30 knots.  Great small kite weather, we both had a blast.  I've got a small amount of pain in my left foot again, hopefully it clears away. James and I hit Rosebud at around 7:30 for a fantastic morning session in beautiful water with a nice 17-18 knot breeze.  Foot is fine and its a great thing to be kiting first thing in the morning.

Its been one of the longest breaks from kiting I've ever had - waiting for my weird foot problem to heal up.  Spent a couple of hours down at Hampton in nice 17 knots, on both the twin tip and surfboard without any problem - great to get through the session, fun to be back on the water. Helped out Gianluca who is progressing well.  His kite is pretty hard to fly though - its a Cabrinha Nomad - one of those kites I'm not a big wrap for.
