2021 12 11 - Sharkphin at Flinders

 Having a grand old time at flinders, thinking about going round the corner when I spotted a big grey thing right in front of me.  Thought it was a massive shark and went quickly into the shallow water.  I would have cut for it but everyone was still out - so I spent the rest of the session trying to warn everyone.  Eventually I gave up - I figured it would have moved on by then - and just kited through the rest of the session.  Looking back through the tape discovered it was actually a dolphin - there were a couple of them chasing me later in the piece.  

Wow.

2023 10 01 - Seaford - blown off the water

 Headed out with James for the first kite of the daylight savings season.  And what a cracker.  What looked to be a little over 20 knots soon turned out to be quite a bit more.  We put kites up and I was somewhat surprised that James headed straight downwind.  Once I was on the water it was clear that the wind was quite a bit stronger than we thought.  Got some massive massive air, thought about pulling a loop coming down but worried I would end up in the dunes.  After 30 mins it got to the point where I could barely hold the kite down.  James pulled safety so we put kites down happy to have got through the session.
